Northwest Brain Conference 3-Day Event
2nd Annual Pacific Northwest Brain Conference
August 1-3, 2007 8:30AM to 4:30PM Daily

Join the experts in cognitive neuroscience and education practitioners at the second annual Pacific Northwest Brain Conference as they present the most recent findings in brain research and translate them into powerful new teaching solutions that enhance learning, foster student development, and raise achievement levels.
Knowledge is power – and the more we know about how the body/brain works, the more focused and effective our curriculum and instruction can be.
Each day will include Let’s Get Moving activities; the key to long-term memory by Jean Blaydes Madigan as well as roundtable discussion and application to the classroom.

Leadership Conference 3-Day Event- Aug 3- 5
Navigating any significant change effectively requires responsive leadership. Re-form that is sustainable over time calls on school leaders to understand how to apply the brain research to the adult learner and utilize lessons from the research on emotion and experience. This conference will assist administrators in creating
the context for sustainable reform.

Dr. Robert Sylwester tells us that “Cognitive neuroscience developments are rapidly moving education toward a major transformatoin in policy and prac-tice.” The Leadership Conference specifically addresses what a principal, administrator, and others in leadership roles must understand to best support teachers
on their ITI journey. You will work with tools designed to help you reflect on your own experiences as you engage in dialog with other committed educators. Networking opportunities will be provided.
